Welcome to the Surrey VCSE Alliance
The Surrey VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) Alliance brings together a diverse network of charities, social enterprises, community groups, and lived‑experience organisations across Surrey. We unite these voices to ensure that local people’s needs are at the heart of health, social care, and community decision-making.
What we do:
As the recognised governance structure for engaging the VCSE sector across Surrey Heartlands and statutory health and care partners, the Alliance strengthens communication, collaboration, and collective voice. We place VCSE organisations at the heart of discussions, enabling them to act as advocates, service providers, innovators, and critical friends.
Our approach:
Our leadership board—comprised of a diverse group of community and sector representatives—guides our work and ensures equal partnership between the voluntary and statutory sectors. Through thematic portfolio leads (e.g. mental health, dementia, homelessness), we coordinate focused efforts to drive meaningful systemic impact.
Our mission:
To improve health, wellbeing, and social outcomes for Surrey’s 1.3 million residents by ensuring that the voices and expertise of local communities shape policy, strategy, and public services.
Surrey is divided into four placed-based alliances - East Surrey, Guildford and Waverley, North West Surrey and Surrey Downs. These bring health, local government and the VCSE sector together to reduce health inequalities in Surrey.
Below you can see who the VCSE rep is for each place.

“ VCSE connect voluntary, community, and social enterprise groups together this make it easy for them to collaborate and for partners to find and work together and putting VCSE organisations at the heart of decision-making.”
